lol. the whole of modern k-pop is a hip-hop/rap child it's literally taking inspiriation from rap music and positioning it for a different audience, it's selling attitude but without the reality of it, hence why it's hella cringe and the only reason it resonates is because that's the effect music has on humans.

I can't speak on early k-pop but even outside of BTS, im talking about the girl k-pop artists, they're also heavily influenced and plagiarise male hip-hop artists. Playboi Carti is a great example of that.

It's quite astonishing to see and hear, but i guess its the evolution of music and the only thing i be thinking about all this is what the modern k-pop sound is going to have on the next generation and how its going to degrade further as obviously this is a step down from rap/hip-hop, even if it has billions of listeners as quantity doesn't equate quality.

I get the overall point although BTS is genuine with its black connects and inspiration - and they were rejected by the kpop world for most of their life that came from a literal indie label that became a major due to their eventual success, they also started out as rappers as kids in the SK underground before their KPop shift and they are legit students as much as they can be with a literal language and geography border

You guys' also always ignore how little of USA norms translates or is even a thing to other countries of different languages, especially as one such as SK that was literally locked off from most of the world in media and visitation for the longest until like the 2000s - they were super isolated and still are to an extent in terms of slow exposure in mainland with only so far barely 20 years of openess

I personally don't care for KPop, but BTS is literally the last persons that deserves these criticisms, and it's dumb asl to get upset over broken English used by people that pretty much live in a different reality than you that are still trying the best to their ability to give homage, give opportunities and respect to their influences

Also most of the racism from Kpop fans towards black people don't even come from most actual SK Koreans, it comes from the Korean version of weebs in USA and EU

From what I understand, black kpop fans outside of the pick me weebs have to isolate themselves to just them as they face racism and exclusions from white Korean weebs and the occasional actual racist Korean (in and outside of SA).

I don't care for Kpop myself, but I get the lore breakdowns and the going ons every now and then from a girl cousin of mine in her mid 20s and my younger sister who's in her young 20 about kpop going ons (like that lawsuit of that dumbass girl who destroyed her own girl group for no reason and herself due to mostly ego and selfishness) and the social workings on twitter and such - my cousin is a fan of wider kpop while my sister only really cares about BTS and their label. My sister and I are mixed black n white mixed while my girl cousin is on my black side of the family and they tell me all about the "wars" and the mess that goes on in the fandom in general and then the deeper layer of the normal black people and the pick me weeb self hate niggas
