Kpop, like most genres, doesn’t popularize music based quality.

Honestly, the quality of the music is probably not even a top 3 most important aspect when it comes to kpop and Stan’s.

Kpop becoming overly westernized was a big mistake because many of these artists are not great songwriters or don’t write songs at all. And now they’re trying to make songs in a whole different language. Most songwriters know that writing a good song isn’t as important so someone like JPEG is more than willing to give out some trash to be used in a kpop song.

People who don’t understand English can listen to this and turn their brains off just fine

There’s plenty of incredible kpop artists, songwriters, music, and BTS has quite a few good tracks themselves though. But it’s definitely easy to dislike the genre if you just go based off Twitter posts.

I know the whole idol philosophy carries over still it’s crazy that it can be some total dog water like this

i think this is the clearest example of just how far style over substance can go because the infatuation for the music begins with some weird stanning of characters created in corporate boardrooms. I think these dudes were shipped off to the military or some s***? I’ve noticed that it’s more about the story leading to the music with the music used as a “saving grace” of the entire plot of the moment to make it seem like the music just isn’t s***ty slop

Every South Korean male has to do two years mandatory military service, just fyi

But yeah I basically agree with the rest of what you're saying

Not really its beautiful cross cultural collabs if you care to do research. I mean this album’s title refrences a historical Korea song thst yearns for unification/historical context and was first recorded on an HBCU campus. Yall should talk to more black kpop stans and fans

  • BTS has paid a lot of respect to Hip Hop and every interview they mention real conscious rappers. Its kinda hilarious

  • Life has to be miserable if your social media identity is about AAVE.

    Leave these dudes alone.
