This is a thread for ways to build relationships and friendships in life with tips and tricks along the way. Any sort of advice is appreciated

Me personally, I've been in a rut the last 2 years and haven't gained any new genuine one's. I still have the same ol group from HS and im looking to start fresh

    Starter Advice:

    • Interact with people on social media (comments, DMs, etc)
    • Do group activities ( playing sports together, video games, book clubs)
    • Participate in school/local activities (greek life, clubs, parties)
-Connect with people you already know ( at school, at work, introducing yourself to family friends)
      -cold approach🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
    • Make sure they have similar schedules or are okay with not talking for long times in between

This is a big one imo

    • Focus on chemistry and personality more than anything. Even if you don't have anything in common, it's really easy to spend hours talking about random s*** with someone you are really friends with.

I also want this to be a sort of a self improvement thread but we'll see how it goes

I agree with you about chemistry. On paper you and another person might have exactly the same interests but if the chemistry isn’t there then you shouldn’t force it.

I don’t think making friends is something you should treat as an end in itself. It’s a skill but really it’s part of building yourself. The majority of the bonds you’ll make are through shared experiences, not planning out each step.

Still if it’s something you’ve struggled with in the past it’s important to reflect on what has hindered you from building or maintaining friendships and threads like this are helpful.

I definitely agree with the self development part. I don't see friendships as a status symbol but as a sign of good health/fitness since you were able to bond with someone for an extended period of time. Takes alot of insight and self reflection and i hope I see alot of growth in the end
