I agree with you about chemistry. On paper you and another person might have exactly the same interests but if the chemistry isn’t there then you shouldn’t force it.
I don’t think making friends is something you should treat as an end in itself. It’s a skill but really it’s part of building yourself. The majority of the bonds you’ll make are through shared experiences, not planning out each step.
Still if it’s something you’ve struggled with in the past it’s important to reflect on what has hindered you from building or maintaining friendships and threads like this are helpful.

I definitely agree with the self development part. I don't see friendships as a status symbol but as a sign of good health/fitness since you were able to bond with someone for an extended period of time. Takes alot of insight and self reflection and i hope I see alot of growth in the end
