the kneejerk reaction to every single change bungie makes and then they react a few hours later is driving me crazy first we need to be compensated for servers being down for a few hours, then they gave us too much good s*** with the kits, there's not enough good loot for new players, then there's too much cus of complex upper level which only 0.1% of players can even access like that, then there's not enough loot now all within a 3 day period how about just play the damn game and roll with the punches. marathon twitter is so aggravating lmao i have to get off that s*** and just play like s1

fr, the economy is so weird right now. i feel so spoiled with the free kits and once i use them up it's going to be weird being a brokie.

at least faction upgrades are cheaper. it took me 80% of last season to get all those biolens seeds for the blue shields. this tiem around it's only one.

but it is weird because even on Perimeter you'll have such a mixed bag of gear amongst different teams and it's easy to feel at a disadvantage.

  • I was amped for the free week but I played this for like 4 matches one night and have felt no desire to come back Tutorial didn't teach me enough and I felt like I was getting killed too easily by the AI enemies. Not sure if I'm just ass but I was struggling to heal quick enough after fighting one or two of them, then there's a whole swarm and I can't heal quick enough/ran out of heals. And dying in one of these games sucks because you lose everything

I feel like 1 week just too little time to learn one of these extraction shooters or get great loot so what's the point of me investing any time in this? Like I'd be far more inclined to at least play if I knew I could progress for a month but why would I invest any time in a game I can't play in a few days?

  • I spent season 1 full destroyer 24/7 but this season i've realized God put me on earth to be a triage main and uplift the meek of the earth (free kit vandal/assassin mains I crew fill with every single time). in that way triage players are christlike

  • just announced the mid season update vault breaker sounds crazy and such a good compromise for people wanting to do cryo without the steep learning curve

Marathon's experimental PVE mode: Vault Breaker. Explore Cryo Archive as a crew, duo, or solo player, taking on a progressively challenging series of vaults. Grow stronger across multiple matches with progression that’s unique to Vault Breaker, and push towards the final vault and the mysterious entity within.

Vault Breaker requires a special Sponsored Kit to queue up, and any gear or items you find stay behind when you exfil. The exception to this is Vault Data. This new currency is found within vaults, and when extracted, can be exchanged for upgrades to your Vault Breaker Sponsored Kits as well as gear that can be used in other modes. This lets you experience Cryo Archive without flooding the economy with low-risk, high-power Cryo loot.

  • Looking further ahead, Season 3 will begin on September 22 and brings big changes to the early game experience, including a revamp of Perimeter to add major new areas, encounters, and gameplay. Season 3 also introduces a new Runner shell, new weapons and equipment, and lots of other content and surprises

    Jesus half the studio?

yeah it's terrible, mostly destiny staff, some marathon staff and outside contractors. bungie execs completely crippled the studio for no reason and sony wasted so much money

  • they're probably giving bungie a year to see if they can turn Marathon around into something remotely viable to 'profit' from while sony takes over. i don't see them shuttering them fully at all though. just way too much talent and potential at bungie and this seems like a restructuring measure

No way they were working anyway

  • It was expected this would happen with Destiny ending, but doomsayers will love to blame Marathon and/or say it's only a matter of time until the game goes under along with Bungie.

They just released new stuff for S2. Honestly a huge loss, the cinematics did a lot of the heavy lifting aura wise

  • 400 people is insane. Running marathon on a skeleton crew won’t be doing it any favors long term

  • Legitimately some of the best in the industry. I hope they all land on their feet

I believe it's not the same people that've been doing the marathon cinematics but yeah it sucks regardless

apparently they've been outsourcing different people to do the new marathon ones, but yeah so strange to not use your inhouse cinematics team really at all and then can them

Man this entire situation is just really sad

  • Sucks but can’t say I’m surprised that this happened. As good as it is, something this niche was the last thing bungie needed to drop

  • I'm not a FPS guy. The only one I truly liked was KZ2 and Marathon was the closest to it gunplay wise.

If this was back in the day I would have poured hours into this game. Nowadays I just have to much responsibilities to get into any type of online game. Would never be able to compete with the YNs that have a bunch of free time

  • went up 9 levels last night winning the crew fill lottery I can never give up on this game man.. stayed with the same team for 10 games and lobby stomped every one. it's crazy how much of an advantage you have just being a good triage with aggressive teammates that rotate
