I’m not sure that would even save it at this point. Their free weekends so far haven’t moved the needle.
Maybe as a very last resort. It’s not like they’re making much money off mtx
I wanted to check this out during that FTP weekend a couple of months back. Was quickly turned off because I felt like the game didn't explain enough and I was dying super quickly. Didn't feel worth it to invest time into learning a game that complex just so I could play for 2 days. I imagine there's a lot of other people who felt that way
I agree, it probably won't be better even if the game is permanently FTP. They only have about 3 months left before COD, 4 months left before GTA VI. Game is cooked no matter what they do at this point

Onboarding still being basically non existent is another big reason I don’t think ftp would work, at least initially. Bungie would need to redo and streamline the first 30 or so hours, which
If they never did it for Destiny, they won’t do it here
such a shame man smfh my favorite game in so long and its had basically the Worst Trajectory of All Time. needs to go f2p yesterday at this point

I think it’ll survive the year but 2027, it’s gone tbh

f2p pivot by end of year, end of service announcement april/may, bungie shut down by september of 27
Ranked is so fun when you have a decent team and don’t feel like you’re by yourself
Just had my first ranked session since season 2 started, we spawned at Maintenance
Told my team (randoms btw) “we’re probably gonna get pushed here, that’s what usually happens”
Literally 3 minutes go by, a squad comes in from around AI Uplink. Another from Quarantine. Fight lasts about 5 minutes, we come out on top. Leave with 6 holotags, mad Misriahs and snipers.
We leave, hit a supply drop at Quarantine, last squad fires at us from Algae Ponds and we kill them.
We blow up the rocket drone, hit a guarded exfil and leave
Added them

Just long enough that they don’t have to give refunds

i think cus people complained so much about loot that first week of s2 they want to keep them separate so sweats don't farm gold mizzys and s***. i also think they're trying to branch it off into two games lowkey to get whatever audience retention they can. so many tweets about people wanting a "single player experience" in this world so they gave in

That ruined Destiny pvp
That ruined Destiny pvp
Idk just feels like separate loot pools is going a stretch an already low player base even more. People who have been wanting a pve mode probably won’t go back to PvP, and PvP sweats probably won’t touch pve.
If launching pve brings in 100k new players it’s not an issue, but…
i'm not gonna post steam charts or whatever but it looks like player count is higher than its been over the last few weeks. hopefully a great sign
saw that this lost like 95% of it's player base
Unfortunately this game is only fun for a specific type of person as it is right now. A masochist like myself
The combat feels good, but that’s it. Progression and overall flow of the game doesn’t feel rewarding enough to keep most people coming back to it
