Wow
Just watched yesterday and this s*** hasn’t left my mind, as slow as it was I could’ve easily watch another hour idk why
I watched this when it first came out. didn't understand, didn't like.
few years went by. read a bunch of murakami, became a big fan.
watched this film again. loved it. steven yeun did a great job with this one, might easily be his best performance up to this point in his career. loved him in minari too.

i heard the role was supposed to go to one of the Korean based actors but i think Steven Yeun was perfect for this.
i don't know if it was intentional but his acting style was just that little bit different from everyone around him and it ended up heightening that upper/lower class dynamic throughout the movie.

he was able to blend a very westernized form of charisma with easter/korean style of acting. fully realized role.

exactly
he knocked it out the park
Its really slow like really slow but the cinematography is amazing and its a great movie yea.
I love Burning and this doesn't disqualify it from being the greatest movie ever cause it's a nitpick but I just want to mention it here:
The scene where the male lead is in the dance club with the girl and Steven Yeun has like the corniest fake "millennial EDM-type" background music I have ever heard in a film
i love Burning, legit one of my favorite movies just because there's so much to read into and a***yze that being said this scene that i mentioned here like two years ago yeah the song is still funny af
H E Y H E Y
Of all the South Korean thrillers I binged, this one was not one of my favs.
what are your faves
what are your faves
I saw the devil, mother, memories of murder. Thirst if that counts
Idk maybe I'd roll my eyes at some of those now. Not Thirst tho. Love Thirst
