Microsoft had a deal with COD last console generation so they'd get s*** like maps first after a month or something PS would get it. PS4 rolls around, guess COD contract with MS ended and Sony made a contract with them to do the exclusive stuff

Some instances of it with prior older consoles, but yeah microsoft really influenced the timed exclusive stuff last generation, now it's flipped to sony being more aggressive with it
