I was hopeful that Harris would win, but when Biden dropped out in this very thread I said I had no idea how this would be pulled off. I didn't want Harris and said Michelle would be the only option to realistically pull off a win on such short notice.
I believe Obama and Pelosi wanted an open primary, but I doubt any serious candidates wanted to participate against Trump with only a few months to introduce themselves nationally.. So that is probably why they just stuck with Harris.
