cult around these DNC losers is both terrifying and pathetic, how psychologically fried do you have to be to call Tim Walz "dad"

That's more of a gen z thing then a dnc thing and didn't Kanye literally call Trump his father figure

MAGA republicans would literally let trump f*** their wife and kidnap their daughter and take it as a sign from god

    Trump losing Sneako

    SAD!

But also this tweet is absolutely ridiculous to read

A tweet with Vivek’s name in it, but calling someone else a grifter

And it is the entire reason as to why we are in this predicament in the very first place and to why she’s actually running and why Biden dropped: It is because of the approach to Palestine.

I personally think a lot of leftists overemphasize the role Palestine in Biden stepping down. Maybe I’m just more cynical. It has definitely fractured the Democratic voting base and optics but up until the debate the Democrats were content on letting Biden be the nominee with zero change in his rhetoric let alone policy on Gaza

I think Biden’s mental decline and senility being put on display was the primary factor tbh, not necessarily the past 9 months or so of various left wing opposition within and outside the party to change. Had Biden performed better we would still be in a Biden-Trump going into the DNC

That’s in no way an indictment of the efforts put in by many people building the movement and raising awareness on the ground, who are part of the reason why it became such a divisive issue within the electoral block of the Democratic Party, but more just showing how truly un democratic the electoral process is one one hand with Kamala being placed in VP can be traced to a culmination of party maneuvering from top-down going back to Bernie getting shafted in 2016. On the other hand its shown just how lockstep every major party is with imperialism and keeping the empire running despite whatever language they coat it in

mentioned this earlier (maybe diff thread) but they are SEETHING in the replies and it's honestly hilarious

right wingers have never seethed at an insult like this before, no less one originating with "normies". it activates neurons in their brain like i don't think any other political insult has in recent history. they're legitimately more upset at being called "weird" than trump being almost JFK'd

it makes sense when you think about it though. a lot of the "online right" (who these insults are aimed at - they're clearly aimed to draw division lines between the "online right" and "regular salt-of-the-earth conservatives" to bring the latter over the voting lines) are alienated young men who flock to what they see as offensive and radical politics to feel special and better than the average eperson or at least above accepted/changing social norms (a lot is post-hoc justification one way or another). a lot of this is of course rooted - often - in things like misogyny or mal-socialization (they can claim to be anti-porn but when their most followed accounts are s*** like "mid castiza of the day" or quasi-pornographic pictures of skinny blonde bimbos with swastikas on them it paints a different picture), despite many of them claiming to hate women they're addicted to female attention and trying to court it even if through negativity.

calling them "weird" pisses them off because it incites legitimate actual psychosexual rage. in their head they want to pretend their opposition is just fat 500 pound blue haired gay people from a "(joe rogan guest) owns the left" compilation in 2012. they want to live in their twitter bubble where they're only arguing with furries with leftist-adjacent symbols in their bio and think that's what their up against. in reality it's normie white women who they idealize sexually. being called weird by these people is once again akin to them being the random guy in high school with weird ideas everyone is maybe nice to but thinks is a weirdo for their views; it completely strips the power they claim to have online and exposes them for LARPing

    its literally this

    right on the money bro

Maybe I’ve been out the loop, but has Trump lies became even worse? Lmao idk how to word this but I feel like you’d have to kinda know a lil something something to know he was lying. I feel like he been just lying about blatantly obvious things harder lately

As I was watching the Olympics yesterday, I randomly came up with a theory, and I'm curious what yall think of it

So in both of the recent Summer Olympics that the US hosted (1984 in LA & 1996 in Atlanta) the US Presidential election was DOMINATED by the incumbent (Regan in '84 and Clinton in '96) -- like those were two of the biggest Presidential wins of the 1900s type domination. Obviously there were tons of things that went into both of those wins, but I was wondering if the Olympics being hosted by the US with an incumbent president could have played a non-insignificant role in it

There were two other Summer Olympics hosted by the US, but they were both prior to 1950, so people couldn't follow on TV/internet (or even on the radio in the 1904 one): 1904 (Olympics in St Louis) - Teddy Roosevelt was not an incumbent in that election (he was VP though) and he cruised to a blowout win (getting 56% of the vote). 1932 (Olympics in LA) was really the one clear exception - Herbert Hoover (the incumbent) gets blown the f*** out, but he was President before and during the Great Depression so that was obviously one of the toughest situations for an incumbent to win in.

Big thing though is obviously the sample size is ridiculously small, so not much data to really go off of
