But the clamping down on corporate landlords and increasing the supply by building a lot more homes is the biggest deal here.

As someone who has been looking at open houses and trying to move for like 3 or 4 years now and talked to a lot of realtors, I can tell you that the biggest roadblocks for myself have been A) Big corporations/businesses that rent real estate or house flippers outbidding normal people because they have tons of cash on hand B) house prices being so high because there’s such a tiny supply of them right now.

Harris’s plan seems like it’s trying hit on both of those points. Now is it going to go far enough? Probably not, but it’s something that should have been done years ago, so making it her first big policy proposal is a huge W

I’m for it if we can modify our budget to get it done without drastically increasing government spending. They mention private sector housing - how are we incentivizing builders without increasing inflation?
