I feel like if she picked Shapiro she’d be doing worse

I’d go so far as to say Shapiro’s “Palestinians are too battle minded” stance and his Obama copycat impression would’ve made the campaign DOA among progressives.

Maybe with shapiro, she could’ve angled her stance on it more critical of Israel, since it would’ve been balanced out by a VP who’s clearly a pro israel. She could drawn a harder divide from Biden because her VP is still an aipac approved democrat.

Idk I think going with a staunch Zionist early in the campaign would’ve been risky, esp since Pennsylvania isn’t guaranteed even if Shapiro had gone on board

But they doubled down on Zionism since then and have sidelined Walz, so maybe they should’ve just went with Shapiro

Felt cool with Walz at the start when it felt like his politics and overall presence (when compared to the other VP options) would be mixed into the campaign, since it wasn’t really clear the direction at the time. But with how it’s gone, she probably just could’ve chosen Shapiro since they’ve basically done what they would’ve done with him, and he probably would’ve been better at doing it.

I thought Walz was a good choice initially because it would've been a good idea for Kamala to be more open to progressive policies to differentiate from Biden, especially with Palestine and MI voters. She gained a lot of momentum originally since she was a blank slate and has no actual ideology other than the Dem party line

Then she killed her momentum by basically being a Biden 0.5 and killed off any chances of picking up any undecided voters that already didn't like Biden, making Walz as the "progressive" pick useless since now he just parrots whatever bs she's got on her site
