1. Incumbents historically perform better so in a way it was the smart choice for him to stay in it

3. There’s not enough time to run a primary, so even as illegitimate as federal elections are, the most legitimate choice at this point is to have a candidate that was a part of the winning ticket that was voted in. Can’t just put in some governor that hasn’t even ran a campaign

Say what you want about Biden but he really has endured a lot in his life - I do truly believe he is a good man even if he has made some bad decisions. I can't imagine watching your wife and daughter die in a car crash and somehow still showing up to work the next day. Or watching his son die in 2016 and his only surviving child being an addict.

I think Kamala will bring a lot of enthusiasm back to the race and honestly just having a younger candidate vs trump will go a long way. She has my vote and I'm hoping she is closer to my beliefs on certain issues than Biden was.

The thing is I hated her in 2020 with this being a perfect example of why. In her VP years, I was generally impressed with her, but I hadn’t seen any reason to believe she’s changed. Frankly, I still haven’t. But I’m throwing my weight behind her because:

A. As of today, she’s become the only viable candidate to beat Trump. With all those endorsements plus the transfer of existing campaign funds, she’s going to be the nominee. I had my objections with Biden, but I already decided to vote for Supreme Court seats. Therefore, I will do that again.

B. She has the momentum of a once in a lifetime presidential endorsement, has proven to excel in debates, and inexplicably is beginning to capture the youth vote that was so desperate for anyone other than Biden that they’ve somehow ended up making coconut memes in support of a cop.

Good enough for me. The choice was always slow improvement at best versus active regression, and as a bonus this is the first Election Day in a generation where a Biden, Bush, or Clinton aren’t going to be on the ballot. Let’s see what happens.
