Camila Cabello is a Cuban-American singer/songwriter and a former member of the girl group, Fifth Harmony.

Career beginnings and Fifth Harmony

Cabello auditioned as a soloist during the second season of the U.S. X Factor in 2012. After being eliminated from the competition, Cabello, was brought back along with Normani Kordei, Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane and Ally Brooke to form, Fifth Harmony. After finishing third place in the show, Fifth Harmony, were signed by Syco Music and Epic Records. Fifth Harmony released their debut EP, 'Better Together' in October 2013 which spawned their first Hot 100 entry, 'Miss Movin' On'. In February 2015, Fifth Harmony, released their debut album, 'Reflection', which entered the top 5 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the hit single, 'Worth It'. May 2016 saw the release of the Fifth Harmony's sophomore album, '7/27', which gave the girls their second top 5 album in the U.S. as well as giving them their biggest hit to date, 'Work From Home'. In December 2016, Camila and Fifth Harmony confirmed in separate statements that Cabello had left the group to embark on her solo career. Fifth Harmony later split in 2018.

2015-2018: Start of Solo Career and Debut Album

In November 2015, Camila featured on Shawn Mendes' single, 'I Know What You Did Last Summer', which reached the top 20 in the United States. In October 2016, Camila released a joint single with rapper, Machine Gun Kelly, titled, 'Bad Things', which became a Top 5 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut solo single ,'Crying In The Club', released on May 19th, 2017. Camila was the opening act from July 2017 - August 2017 for Bruno Mars’ ‘24K Magic World Tour’. Camila released, ‘Havana’, featuring Young Thug, in August 2017 and reached #1 on the Hot 100. Camila’s debut album, ‘Camila’, released on January 12th, 2018 and reached #1 on the Billboard albums chart. ‘Camila’ spawned three more singles, ‘Never Be The Same’, ‘Real Friends’ and ‘Consequences’. Camila embarked on her first headline world tour, ‘Never Be The Same Tour’ which ran from April 2018 - October 2018. In May 2018, Pharrell Williams and Camila Cabello released the joint single, ‘Sangria Wine’. Cabello was an opening act for on Taylor Swift’s ‘The Reputation Stadium Tour’ from May 2018 - October 2018. Camila featured on the song ‘Beautiful’ by Bazzi which reached the top 30 in the US.

2019-present: Romance

Camila began working on her second studio album in 2018. In June 2019, Camila released a joint single, ‘Señorita’ with Shawn Mendes which reached #1 on the Hot 100 which acted as the lead to her sophomore album. Cabello released a string of singles following ‘Señorita’, none of which made an impact on the charts. ‘Romance’ was released on December 6th, 2019.
