It’s a collectors item. I don’t think anyone actually really listens to these CDs they buy
How could you. Computers don’t have cd drives and cars don’t have the slot anymore.
I’ve always loved CDs because they had the booklet. Now of course the booklet can range from being just one page with tracklist and credits to a whole lyric book with lots of artwork, a personal thank you and acknowledgments section, and more. Can’t be that tbh

real music lovers have a hifi system with integrated CD player
I still buy CDs and burn CDs all the time
No they are not going to make a comeback
Records and CDs are cool for finding music that isn't out on a digital platform
But otherwise? It's pretty unnecessary but I'm not one to yuck someone's yum
And if we tolerate this then our children will be next.
Post of the thread! A Manic Street Preacher reference! Interesting band. One member disappeared off the face of the planet, never to be found!

load cd's on to my iTunes in lossless quality with an external disc drive and still use an iPod at work and one in my car, both with like 20,000 songs

Yeah I'm not abandoning this vast library i spent decades curating just to have to rely on internet signal and bluetooth bullshit for streaming services that don't have half the deep cuts I've collected
When I paid a classmate hustling hard in middle school to bring me the Illmatic album in full on a burnt disc
Some of the best money I ever spent
Contributing to OPs question, nah that s***'s most likely a wrap but hopefully I'm wrong
