  • Being alone >

No responsibility, can jerk off to whatever to want, all your money goes to yourself

  • And don’t ever forget that this is just a scam America put up so single men can’t become rich alone. They know that single dudes are too smart to spend unwarranted amounts of money on nonsense or materialistic BS the way a partner would. Whatever uncle Sam didn’t touch and left over they want that to be gone as well.

You never hear the single woman who was a boss and climbed the ladder while being single ever having a problem or being judged on that.

Marriage and relationships suck because if she's not happy it's gonna effect you.

I got in a relationship 5 months after posting this and still in it and planning on marriage

More responsibilities and obligations means you can't just leave a job. Kids probably on your healthcare too.

I’d say it does limit you at some point if you work in a corporate office with the goal of moving up the ladder as you will have to interact in more settings outside of the workplace eventually where having a partner as a +1 is an added benefit

many people develop connections with their workmates via families or “hey me and my wife are going hiking, you should bring yours we show ya’ll some sights” and now you’re getting to network in a different, more personal way. like going golfing or for an outing with your workmates but now it’s partner specific activities. Plus most higher level folks just tend to be married especially from a young age like 24-28 where by the time they more established at 33-36 they already 1-2 kids deep and been married multiple years. It’s just an easy conversation piece and ice breaker as everyone at that level is either married or multiple divorces. I know when I was in office, the women would always subtlety ask about who I’m dating or do I have roommates, live alone, with a GF, or stay at home. Unfortunately it’s just what people do

This is one of those questions that doesn’t have s*** to do with s*** but yeah maybe some old dumb f*** will allow it to influence his decision making process because he’s an old dumb f*** but really it just doesn’t have s*** to do with s***

  • I’m a hiring manager for a design engineering team at a pretty decently sized aerospace company, and I think it’s actually quite the opposite.

I honestly will almost always try to hire people who are bachelors or don’t seem like they’ll be raising a family anytime soon. Less mouths to feed means they usually will accept lower salary offers, and people with families are usually too bodacious and end up leaving for a promotion every couple years. Lifelong bachelors are fine staying in their lane. Finally, it’s much easier to get a worker to fly out somewhere for a company trip when they don’t have little ones around.

I don’t necessarily like it, but it’s just how it is.

Try being from Africa like me. If you have solid career and not at least engaged by late 20s, family members will start pressure you or hook you up with so-and-so's child they approve. I'm going throught this right now

  • With gen z this won’t be an issue unless you are rich

remember you have agency over your own life. stand your ground

you can even play the "soon" game and give them hope and just prolongue it , or make excuses like im saving up more money first etc...

thankfully my folks are chill in that regard, even tho what you described does exist here to an extent. it just depends how traditional your parents are
