really loved this one. it has such a unique scope and pace for things in this genre. it's all very small scale and it was never worried about having one big baddie or goal to structure around. also the restraint the writers had with a lot of stuff towards the end really helped it imo. one of my favorite parts was showing how scary this world would be to adults. jeevan was fantastic and felt like a cool switch up on how we usually get these relationships in end of the world things. the show was very human.

there were some things that made me roll my eyes like the phone call to the pilot and him sacrificing the plane|| as well as ||tyler and his mom breaking through with that line recital moment before he decides to play hamlet, but the heart of those moments are so clearly earnest that i really didn't mind.

i'm very glad i caught this and it's view on the end of the world before watching last of us next week. it felt like a rare view of the end of the world

Brrrooooo totally agreed about seeing a realistic adult perspective on that type of situation

One thing I've found myself appreciating is the way they gradually went back to reveal more of the characters' relationships and dynamics between each other. That s\*\*\* was SO. FCKING. BRILLIANT. to me. I usually hate when TV shows are bouncing all over the place in time, but this was just so well done. Layer by layer they would reveal something from the past, then go back ahead to show you how that was playing out now. Ugh I loved this show so much

i love how so much of the stories is revealed to be connected, only for you to start to realize they are all coming back together. like how they are forced to the museum of civilization and it clicks because they show arthur setting that up the last episode (or something) it all gets placed so so well.
