I dont like any of the videos recommended to me on YouTube

They need to stop showing me to the same s*** I've already watched

YT algorithm is trash. I spend more time looking for good vids on there than I do actually watching

Starting to wonder if the algorithm is designed to indiscriminately keep you on the site for as long as possible, even if that means wasting your time

i hate how theve incorporated the algorithm into the search function where it shows like 3-5 videos related to the search then another 3-5 videos which are 'for you' then 'people also watched' that are nothing to do with what was searched.

watch time isnt always everything click through rate and watch duration are huge as well especially on a shorter video where youre more likely to watch until the end

youtube are pushing their shorts feature a lot right now too

Attention span is getting shorter and shorter for content. Short form videos get more views and get people to stay longer. People don't like to commit to longer videos as much anymore. They're copying Tik Tok basically
It's funny too because YouTube pushed hard for 10 minute videos not too long ago and it ruined a lot of their platform with people stretching their videos
