(And when I’m talking about female rap, I’m talking about the mainstream p**** rap that’s poppin rn)
This s*** is trash
All these female rappers are copy-pasting each other without even trying to do something different beyond their usual sound.
It’s like is p**** all you have to offer in your music? Nothing else?
And while yes someone like Doja has brought something different to the table with her latest album, it’s still filled with pop records that make it hard to call it a complete rap album.
Also 99% of them have ghostwriters but their lyrics are subpar at best and if this is what’s dominating rap rn then HipHop is in trouble.
When y'all realize that their is a reason why "scaring the hoes" is a thing, these hoe raps will make a lot more sense.
you know you’re about to read the worst opinion when the thread title starts with “can we be real about”
I realize this is not relevant to your point, but mainstream male rap - outside of a few exceptions - is just as bland. I do not think it is a female specific thing here, it is just the current state of mainstream rap / hip hop.
the day you find me rocking to a female rapper I will be 6 feet deep
You never rocked out to nicki’s verse on bottom’s up??
move to loser sxn
And this is why female rap will remain the same cuz niggas like this dismiss any critique as “loser” talk.

“Scaring the hoes” is only a thing cuz people needed a reason to s*** on music that’s not popular
Even if that’s true, they can’t rap about something else in between those records?

you’re literally complaining about mainstream music being music people want to have fun listening to without having to think about it
go listen to the new Danny Brown album if you wanna listen to “scaring the hoes” music

Which it is, I agree
But male rap at least has a diverse group of rappers that are poppin and have some different subject matter in their songs.
Like every street rapper has at least one song where their not flexing and rap about struggling before they blew up.
Idk any female rapper who has anything close to that in their music
not this thread again
do something more productive with your time please
