They were basically an R&B Group with only ONE singer in the group

Every song they put out was essentially its own self-contained "R&B singer on the hook" formula with feature verses

Pretty genius if you think about it

You’re right. It wasn’t the usual concept, but that s*** worked.

I got a couple of questions. Are there still male R&B groups?! Second, why ain’t people making freaky, groovy s*** anymore?! Like On the Hotline, Grind on Me, and all that s***. Most of the R&B niggas be trying to sound like rappers and talk about f***ing ho’s, doing d****, and getting money. I want to want to hear some new age R&B that talk about making love, sucking toes, eating ass and all that stuff....shit

I really tried to sit here and think of one, but you're right no more male R&B groups.

I think that might have someone to do with the fact that most singing groups are a label produced/manufactured thing. And that the lack of groups today are just another side effect of the times that we're in.

Yes that was the joke/observation, Pretty Ricky were pretty much an R&B group, despite the fact that the group itself mostly consisted of rappers.

I don't know about all that, the only thing Pretty Ricky had over B2K was the fact that they had Static Major (RIP) writing and producing their records. B2K had the better dancers and two other singers in the group.

What 2 other singers did B2k have? Fizz and Raz were rappers lol and I dont remember Boog ever having any vocals.

Regardless of how prominent their contributions in each song were, that's still them "singing"

Nahh. Even if that did count it only proves my point that PR was more talented. At least each member of the group had solo verses in their songs.
