Never understood this narrative.
I think some people believe Nas never picked beats that were on par with his rhymes. Plus out the gate he came in the game with the greatest production lineup and people consider that factor as well. He was like the first rapper with all the major producers on one album
Others feel like his production choices are bland/generic. He’s not hopping on beats that are outright trash all the time like people make it seem
Although I feel like beat selection was never one of Nas strengths I still think people exaggerate a lot. He picked plenty classic beats
With that being said, these are some of my least favorite lol
