    WESLEY THE GREAT

Thats why Cole was in the wrong.

There shouldn't have been a song addressing this. Noname made a dumbass tweet out of emotion, deleted it and moved on. Cole didn't need to tell or show people he was "woke". It was much more powerful seeing him walk with the people protesting. Actions can and do speak louder than words.

I’ll never say an artist is in the wrong for using their medium to get their thoughts out. Cole did nothing wrong here.

And Noname straight corny for deleting the tweet and not standing by her words. Not even the first time she’s done this which should this.

    before i answer,

    you black?

I dont need to hear you tell me I dont get to have a voice in this.

I want to support the systemically oppressed. I have tried to, I donated what I could to my local bail fund and I've been signing petitions left and right.

I see a lot of infighting and I dont understand it. Theres a greater issue at hand and all of this seems kind of petty. Plus im a fan of music, so ofc i'm going to comment about Cole's song.

Twitter's mad at Cole for "passive aggressively tearing down" a black female artist. Twitter's response was to tear down a black artist

how we as black men treat our black women is severely important bro. this isn't a distraction, it's a kick in the ass to make sure while we're ALL fighting this fight, that we're ALL on the same page.

I totally agree but this energy shouldn’t be applied here. Cole is married to black woman, he understands what they go through. Has anyone of the black women on twitter attacking Cole realize how insensitive that can be towards her? Cole isn’t some male thot out here scorning black women. He’s looking at Noname as a true equal, because he listened and responded to her thoroughly. That’s looking past gender and just two people having a different perspective.

I simply asked you cause I was going to provide context that really only a black man would be able to (at least try to) internalize. it would be pretty pointless (TO ME) to take the convo where I wanted to with you.

We weren't interacting disrespectfully, so my question was an honest one. I know this is KTT but there are at least a few mature people on here haha. I appreciate you doing what you can, and I hope as you gain more info you start to uncover the true meaning of that "greater issue" at hand.

Twitter's response was to teach accountability. This is a lesson that Cole may or may not choose to take in. I see more pointing out of flaws and approach than "tearing down" but we have two different timelines so

Yeah, this is KTT2. People call each other "cacs" for fun here and try to throw around the n word when they aren't black.

I didn't expect such a good answer though, thank you.

I guess I see it differently because the discussions within our community and how we treat black women has been on my radar far before this song dropped. So I'm coming at it from a point of view like, this is nothing new. Black women have been saying this s*** about us forever. So I think it's less about this specific instance with Cole and Noname, and more about how damaging and hurtful it must feel to black women right now to get these thoughts from someone our community heralds as THAT guy. like this only gives more ammo to THOSE type of niggas that refuse to separate the struggle of being a black WOMAN from being a black person. it's just different.

so now its a problem when a black artist disses someone else thats black??

its literally one of the core aspects of the genre

And that’s why I’m not going at our queens because I do understand their struggle. We do them dirty on so many levels that they have a quick trigger. Hopefully us black men would stop having so many BMs and really commit and love our queens. They are truly beautiful beneath the surface, I’m married to one myself so I know.

Twitter's going wayyyyy harder than anything he said about noname. We passed "teaching" in only a few hours with all the reactionary hot takes
