If it’s a trap beat best believe it’s fruity booty fruit loops

If the track has a sah-wing to it, ie Dilla, Q-Tip best believe that’s the MPC!

Hard to tell but u can tell which producer uses an ASR 10

    Same with Ableton (Flying Lotus)

i b makin all my bouncy s*** in ableton tho i do it all.

You can make those "sah-wing" or whatever the f*** want to call it on literally any DAW too. The only thing that a DAW changes is workflow, not sound

You're telling me you can HEAR what DAW was used to make a beat?

    Everyone ITT delusional

workflow, thats it. Some producers feel more comfortable working in FL and some feel more comfortable in Ableton.

At the end of the day you are both going to be using the same VSTs like FabFilter for EQ/Effects so nothing matters

    Gross beat on FL lmao

Naw not like an mpc, their time coding is special. They don’t even put those in their daws, they’re specifically in their hardware.

    It’s not the same. 2 pieces of hardware that’s undefeated, asr 10 and an mpc, preferably a 2000xl or a 3000 .

Just for their time coding engine. It’s the secret sauce. Like running your tracks thru 2” tape. There are softwares that can attempt to duplicate it but the real thing is unmatched.

These days software that duplicate hardware are often good enough that you can't even tell the difference unless you are paying hella attention so it don't matter unless you are like some insane perfectionist or something

We’re gonna say the same about fake asses one of these days lmao.

I agree to a fault tho. There are some Rhodes vsts that are uhmazing

Still like we can hear that TPAB was ran thru 2” tape. How warm and saturated the mixing is. It’s special and provides a feeling.

Knew that happened b4 he said it. It tingles the ears lol

used to rewire reason to ableton just for the vsts

agree on the interface tho. My laptop screen too small to comfortably use reason

what the f*** u talkin bout bro? dilla was famous for not using quantization so what would "time coding" have to do with the swing in his drums?

swing comes down to syncopation, velocity, sample choice, and the timing of the notes - all these things can be changed in any daw

once you get over the learning curve the workflow is crazy

maschine as a daw tho is absolute s*** in terms of sequencing and effects tho so im slowly migrating over to ableton

still make some nice beats in maschine but again the sequencing is horrible and its hard to easily switch s*** up in a beat
