Surprised I didn’t see any previous threads on this. The closest I saw in this section was something about people not having inner voices. If you lack the ability to visualize things in your mind, how does this affect you while reading? How do you process stories or information?

i think this s*** can explain why some people can’t stand reading, i can’t fathom reading a fantasy novel or some fiction and not having the ability to picture the characters, the scenes, the world etc

like that sounds like agony lol, you mean to tell me these niggas are just seeing straight up words and can’t build an image out of it

The hard part is visualizing it in 3d

Ya I was in a university study because of it. Was comparing people who can’t visualize at all and people who are in the top 1% of detail in visualizers! I don’t know how muhc of it is practise though because I have been drawing all day everyday for like 12 years and do a lot from imagination. Even though im a visualizer, some of the most succesful artists of all time can’t visualize at all. The guy who created the little mermaid and designed Ariel can’t for example.

At first I saw #3. But it slowly rendered into #1. I saw a hyperrealistic apple floating around within an ethereal blue and purple backdrop

if you've ever beat off to memory or imagination then you're probably a 1

  • Mine ranges from 2 to 3.
I don't believe in 1 because it would have to look real as a computer screen to qualify as a 1 imo.

Yeah some objects and ideas like

human face or orange shirt are just floating kinda there, and I'm just like "yeah I can see it?"

Cause I know what a human face or an orange shirt should look like

I'm between 3-4 just trying to visualize an apple by itself on my own. But, if I can smell an apple or hear the sound of someone eating an apple or someone describing it in detail, I'm at 1 bc my brain draws in all the details. I would be lying if I said I can see a whole apple in my head without closing my eyes and focusing on that one thing.

  • Feb 2, 2024

    Hey

  • You cant f***ing imagine an apple you must be remedial.

  • Feb 2, 2024

I wonder if most people without inner monologues got visualization on x1000 (based on my past)
