Shady AntI've never even heard of Joni Mitchell outside of when I asked my mom what artists she likes. I ain't even tryna be mean, like, it's their decision what they want to tolerate from the companies they let use their music, but it's just so evil to me to try to silence someone else's art and ruin their livelihoods. No, I don't like Rogan, but even clowns have the right to honk.
Not only that, but imagine if Spotify existed in like, the 60s. You know some cracker ass artists would pull their s*** because of civil rights anthems being on the service as well. Jan 29, 2022Weird thing about Rogan is that for years he was just a silly dude whose podcast was pretty inconsequential stuff. Like I know/knew a lot of people who listened to it from communists to wannabe mma fighter dudebros. I think people kinda overstate his tangible influence but there's no doubt that there is a cohort of people that derive too much of their views from his show and also that he's skewed in a fairly reactionary way (prob partly out of contrarianism as much as anything) post trump election.
Tbh if people don't want to share or use a platform where he's actively paid money to be on then that's their perogative

P interesting that both Mitchell and Young survived polio too and that that may have influenced their views on stuff like this. Feel like that has gotten less airtime here than stuff about people being justified in not getting vaccinated cos they learned about Tuskegee 60 years after the fact like in 2020
