Im about to have a nervous breakdown

I finished my CS class in May and I STILL haven’t received any sort of assistance in regards to fixing my grade. Some dude went and started accusing me of cheating without evidence, started changing my grades, and now the school doesn’t know which appeal process to follow.

They falsely accused me of cheating, deducted points from my assignments without giving me the opportunity to fix said issues (as outlined in the syllabus and by the professor), and now I can’t register for my next classes. I can’t get any financial aid because I can only retake a course twice bring aid is ineligible.

I got myself somewhat out of debt and now I’m stuck in another situation where there’s no escape. I have sent damn near 100s on emails to different deans explaining the situation, no one is helping me get this fixed. Is there anything I could do to get some attention from uva? The semester is beginning in two weeks, I have no classes on my schedule, and on the first of August I’m responsible for rent at my dorm since no aid.

Someone please help me. I have tried everything to no avail. I’m getting very desperate, I really don’t want to give up but it’s hard finding reasons to keep going. They don’t care about fixing their mistakes they just wanna see me fail.

If not sue the f*** outta them cause that is probably legally on them .

There's laws against falsely accusing of plagiarism at the collegiate level. I think. At least that's what theyve told me

Id find a subreddit applicable and post this story there. Yeah f*** reddit but they probably will know what to do

The dude changing my grade is using the fact that I copied and pasted the exam questions in the answer box as evidence of cheating.

Try googling safe assign or plagiarism checker or something too. If it comes back highlighting only your questions or whatever than you can absolutely use that as proof

You can maybe try apologizing for not citing the questions too?

I even have a video of myself going back and copying and pasting the questions like anyone can do it on a MacBook. I can still access the exam till this day.

Thank you. Everyone keeps asking if I’m excited for the coming semester and mentally I haven’t made it out of the spring semester. None of the cs staff are helping me it’s honestly making me lose a passion for CS.

Citations wasn’t the issue. My professor told me I could fix any assignments deemed “advanced” and had a set protocol. It was another CS staff member who went against the established protocol. Then on top of this they went and assumed I was cheating and deducted points from my exams.

They still haven’t fixed my grade

I’m supposed to be selecting my classes and I can’t even continue cs without enrolling in the class again. I always try to pray and be a good person and I just don’t understand why this is all happening to me.

Should I enroll in the class again or just wait for the appeal? There’s no way I’m taking this class again. I did everything was supposed to it’s not my fault my professor didn’t notify me of the advanced material.

Sorry this is happening man but you gotta go in person and talk to multiple people if necessary, waiting around for admin to reply to your emails especially during summer is gonna screw you

Firstly I’d try to lock down your courses for next year, go to academic counseling and explain your situation and they should be able to enroll you in your higher classes even if you don’t officially have your prereqs yet. Then head to the CS department and don’t leave til your situation is sorted

Id be s***ty about. but not like to the point where you could get in trouble, like really bullet point up every f***ed up thing the professor did and blatantly state they f***ed up.

Thank you I’m going to keep trying it’s just I’m being referred to the department chair. Every time I try emailing someone else they just refer me back to him. This is the email he sent me today. Also, I meet with the dean on the 10th and the ombudsman on the 21st.

This will be my third time taking this class… I made sure my second time around to do everything I was supposed to. Now to go and do it again just feels like I’m wasting my time but I can’t sit idle either.

The dean responded to my email today, acknowledging the presence of verbal rules that my professor "believes" he conveyed to the class, but these rules were not explicitly outlined in the syllabus.

These verbal rules dictate that if a student submits assignments with advanced material, they are granted a single opportunity to rectify the assignment. Unfortunately, I was unaware of this policy due to my professor's failure to communicate it clearly. He only mentioned that we could resubmit assignments if flagged for including advanced material. Strangely, the information about my assignments being categorized as advanced material only reached me after the conclusion of the Spring semester. I had initially completed these assignments in April and received full points for them, but the reevaluation resulting in zeros occurred only in late May.

The dean has now pointed out that some of the most critical course policies are absent from the syllabus, which has contributed to student confusion. I feel utterly defeated. I did everything I was supposed to and now I have to retake the class over some “verbal guidelines” that wasn’t successfully communicated to the class.
