Rap music has contended with the tension between its self portrayal as an organic, anti-estab culture and the reality that it’s largely produced by large corporations full of professional songwriters, A&R, etc. The most you can hope for, in terms of artistic authenticity in big budget albums, is that an artist works with a team of regular collaborators and has a strong, top-down artistic vision (examples: various Drake and Ye records). For artists like Cardi, they most likely just exist in the industry machine and have to signal their authenticity through social media, interviews, etc.

Even if she was joking what kinda joke is “lol, I abused people and got away with it 🤪” though?
She’s never going to real court for it, but she’s guilty in the court of my opinion either way.
Also, regarding the men getting away with rape thing, please don’t “but what about…” when discussing wrongdoings. Anyone getting away with rape is disgraceful, but if she really did do that s***, that’s also disgraceful.
