I just don't really understand how this conversation still needs to be had.
Art is a representation of humans. Part of humans is sexuality. So therefore some humans are going to make sexual art and it's going to connect wtfh a lot of people. Idk how or why we need to go through this.

In the past women were looked at as primarily sexual objects.

What cardi did goes back to making her looking like that.

If that's what people want to do it's fine, but you can't scream "female empowerment" and do that. It's a contradiction.

    fun guy

    What are you insinuating

    Cardi B is intelligent dumbass

    Stop trolling

  • Mar 16, 2021

All other bullshit aside can no one in this thread understand why older people would think two strippers performing a song called wet ass p**** on prime time television is a bit much?

I can't imagine a scenario where two dudes dropped a song called hard as d*** and their whole performance was just them basically naked mock f***ing chicks on stage broadcast primetime on a sunday night wouldn't cause a bit of a conversation.

Expression is expression, who cares, but context also matters. If I had a young daughter and we were watching the grammy's I wouldn't be stoked

For the record I think Megan is a good rapper and Cardi is really entertaining. They're both talented and work hard at what they do, but that performance was also goofy as f***.

The real truth is conservatives have almost no policy agenda, so they have to get mad about s*** like this. Culture war type s***.

The song has no impact on the empowerment scale. Positive or Negative. It's a sexually explicit song that people like that's it. Get over it.

I still side with Cardi though over Candace. If Candace had her way, it'd be 1955.

The performance was not suitable for TV imo, but I don't pit that on Cardi entirely. That's 100% the Grammys faults for screening that and allowing it to go on. Just like how I don't blame Macklemore for winning over Kendrick, I blame the out of touch garbage committee that voted for him.

You’re right. If a family was watching the Grammys live with their kids, they’d have to explain what’s going on. It’s totally cool for Meg and Cardi to express sexuality in their raps, but the Grammys was not the appropriate place

Why is it Alicia 'stealing' a man and not Swizz cheating??

    Great point

  • Mar 16, 2021

If Candence Owens is upset about something, it probably means you’re doing something right

Cardi only claimed to be black because black latinos were finally pushing to be seen which gave us the afro latino movement but because allot of Latinos see theirselves as racially ambiguous mutts anyways you have mestizo or white latinos who think they could just claim blackness whenever especially after saying something anti-black. That seems to be the case with Cardi.

A woman doing what they want is empowerment. Anyone doing what they want is empowering to people looking at it that way. Regardless of if you like it or not Cardi and Meg's whole thing brought a lot of girls out of their shells tbh not always sexually either.

oh 100% and she's using that argument in a terrible way to prop up a garbage conservative talking point

there IS a real convo to be had about corporate wokeness and white owned labels profiting off Black trauma and art but I really doubt Candace Owens actually gives a f*** about that she just knows bringing it up makes the rest of her argument sound less deranged

    deadass

candace owens has no concrete beliefs, she's just a vessel for the culture war bullshit that distracts from real issues, she goes where the money does

all she talks about is stupid s*** no one cares about like dr. seuss and WAP and the dumb "cancel culture" boogeyman

she has no beliefs and she sold her soul to the people that hate her the most

    it's a garbage grift

  • Mar 16, 2021

Imagine giving a f***in idiot like Candace Owens the time and energy
