    TDLR:

    • Carl didn't draft the contract, T. Farris (the person he had manage the company) and Meg's Mother drafted the contract she signed.

    • Meg hasn't contacted him since August, hasn't made her payments to him since then, owes around $2 Million

    • Lyor Cohen/300 Ent. owns basically every term Meg has created (Megan Thee Stallion, Hot Girl Meg, Tina Snow, Hot Girl Summer, etc.). Meg also signed some type of deal with 300 prior to this.

    • Meg didn't switch up until she started fw Jay Z and Roc Nation. Carl feels like Roc Nation and Meg aren't trying to renegotiate, but want to take Meg from 1501 altogether (video validates this w/ a post of 2 Chainz saying Roc Nation wanted him to distance himself from his previous management to deal with them)

    • The 60/40 Split with a 10k advance was a deal she did when she was just getting started. The 60/40 split is the ownership split of her Masters, he references "a 360 deal with a 70/30 split" so it seems like the 60/40 is just for her ownership of her music and the 70/30 split is for everything else involved (management, tours, etc.)

    • The video narrator makes a good point in highlighting Meg suing Carl, but not suing Lyor/300, who conveniently is affiliated with Jay Z, who actually owns her entire brand in terms of her stage name, gimmicks and personas.

    • Her deal is for 4 albums, which I think is weird that she's suing them. Idk if there's a distinction between Albums and Mixtapes. If there isn't, then she already did 2 Mixtapes, she would just need to drop 2 more projects to fulfill her contract, which is as easy as Two albums with 7-8 songs each.

    • Meg wasn't 20 when she signed the deal like reported, she was 23 according to Carl.

    Lyor in a nutshell

Tbh. Once I saw that Lyor owns her entire brand and she didnt make any moves to sue him, plus Roc Nation's involvement in this and Jay and Lyor's history, it's clear they are trying to push Carl out of the equation.

Carl even said if J. Prince didn't have his back they would've been stole Meg from him. This also makes sense why she's implicating J. Prince in her suit when he has nothing directly to do with the deal.

I don't trust either of them the truth is inbetween.

He gave her a s***ty contract but Meg was always gonna try and screw them to leave for Roc cause that's Roc does people.

The fact Meg isn't going after Lyor too whose homeboys with Jay says alot too. They tryna push Carl out and always were. Doesn't excuse him but I'm team no one.

His facts make more sense tbh given the context of everything especially her tryna sue him but not Lyor and them.

It's confirmed Carl the only non Jay Z affiliate and he's the one getting sued and attacked publicly even tho he's not the only one screwing her.

She doesn't even own her name yet Roc encouraged her to only sue Carl?

Carl ain't s*** but she's setting herself up to just get owned by Jay and Lyor and that's just as bad.

I don't think Meg as smart as she claimed and she's getting pushed around.

She's needs her own team not a Carl team or Roc team.

I believe him, ain't no nigga gonna lie about being owed 2 million dollars

Nah I agree with your other post, both sides seem quite fishy

This. I don't think he's 100% innocent but I definitely feel he's telling more of the truth than Meg has been currently.

Her not suing Lyor exposed everything to me. Jay and Lyor are basically pushing Carl out when his company were the main ones who built Megan's brand and popularity.

If they take her, then he would've invested all that energy and money into her, just for Jay and Lyor to reap the benefits, most likely at Meg's expense in the end. From that view I see why Carl feels slighted.

I feel bad for her tbh seems like without her Mom she's got no one in her corner so everyone tryna feed.

Carl got her music,Lyor got her name and Jay got her future

  • Mar 4, 2020

it’s her fault for not reading the contract. simple. she can’t blame anyone but herself.

It's true and she was so egotistical in Twitter a year or two ago had mad tweets saying she was smarter then "the average b****" and her degree made her special.

It's a shame to see it go like this

  • Mar 4, 2020

why are people so mad at the record label and lyor lol meg should have known what she was getting into before hand

Another thing to consider is Jay isn't good at managing female artists overall

His only real success with a Female that he managed from the start was Rihanna. Foxy Brown signed to him when she had slumped but their deal didnt last. Chrisette Michelle didn't take off. Teirra Mari, Rita Ora and Amil burned out quickly.

I think the general public myself included, gassed the prospect of Meg with Roc Nation versus the track record of Jay managing the careers of Female artists.

They’re just trying to tear a successful black man down, Carl deserves all the money he receives from scamming Meg’s dumb ass. Plus he should’ve got a ring in 08.

That was why the s*** was funny at first tbh.

I could easily understand Cardi or an artist who doesn't gas their intelligence getting finessed, but for Meg and her fans to inflate how intelligent she is and brag about it, only to not own anything other than 40% of her profits (which she may have to pay all expenses with), is wild.

It is unfortunate but a real smart person knows they don't know everything.

rita ora is doing p good now but it definitely took her leaving the label for any kind of serious output

Honestly i’m with him. It’s her fault for signing this deal. She had not even a quarter of the profitability she has now. Should’ve built a stronger case before signing.

This is fair. As messed up as the Deal was, she had nothing she could use as leverage until she was already gaining traction because of their work.

And it's a 4 album deal. She put 1 project out through them so she just needs to put out 3 to fulfill her deal.

I find it hard to believe she can't write 3 short albums (10 songs max) and be done with the deal. Future started dropping albums back to back to fulfill his requirements for the Rocko deal quicker after that lawsuit was over.

Its not even that messed up. You gotta consider she had to have been in terrible shape for her to accept these conditions over a 10k advance. That was probably looking like a godsend at the time. Artists always want to act above their past. Not today Megan. 🤣
