Whole bunch of dorks itt, obviously Carti isn’t trying to sound like a punk artist. That whole label just really comes from the energy at his live shows with the insanely loud bass and people going crazy.

@op spitting facts. Punk is an extremely political genre and I don't see any hint of that in Carti's music. The fact he's a platinum-selling artist fully embracing pop stardom makes it corny to me he's just appropriating this as a really surface level edgy aesthetic, completely stripping it of its anti-capitalist background.

It's kind of the most literal way to be "edgy" and it feels rly fake and postmodernist-ironic.

Honestly the way he (or I should probably say his PR team) writes on social media just makes me aggressive when I read more than two tweets, he just doesn't even say s***, just "wow amazing I love you"
