There are still a bunch of really great post 2015 acts like gunna, lucki, lil baby, nudy etc but creativitely he definitely is on something else conceptual wise on some ye s***. Lucki his closest rival in that regard but he dnt have the resources/funds like carti do.

WLR a prime example of an artist prioritising their own vision instead of giving in to external pressure such as accessibility, commercial success or un-realistic fan expectations
still need that deluxe tho ;)
It certainly isn't an album for everyone, and I totally get why people can't get into it.
His evolution as an artist that's happened in just 5 years is insane, he really is just a totally different person to who he was when he first came on to the scene - as you say, he is miles ahead of his contemporaries

tupacartisay what you want about carti, but he went the artist route and did what he wanted to do, a lot of people would've caved into the pressure and try to appease every portion of their fanbase, but he said f*** that, let me make something I want to hear. that deserves nothing but respect, especially for an artist in the mainstream.
