maybe the reason they're so egregious is cos men keep telling them to stop?? like what do yall expect them to go "ok sir you don't like when i talk about f***in? i'll certainly drop a song about the shepherd's pie i made my husband for dindin next"

reactive ideologies are dumb. meg talking about poppin her p**** impacts a different demographic than nba youngboy talking about killin niggas

there is a huge issue in the messages males are promoting in music too, its not a competition between the genders lmaooo

This site has a whole section dedicated to simping on hot women but they moment they get assertive about their looks it's a problem.

I feel like this is a strawman. Its when you make that your whole schtick, especially considering you influence the youth. Its no better then a 6ix9ine type glorifying acting a fool and playing around with street violence

It should definitely be a worry if the most well known female rappers right now are all shaking asses and titties.

MAYBE the criticism would be valid if it were applied fairly but since very few people (and no people with any amount of reach) criticize male rappers for capitalizing on women's sexuality, it isn't.

even then, explain how it's irresponsible for female artists to make music that's relevant to their lives and their fans lives? how is it unprofessional when so much rap has hypersexuality bound into the lyrics? it seems to me like the only difference is that THAT is men making music that sexualizes women & THIS is women making music that sexualizes us

I don’t know what male rapper sexualizes themselves to the extent of cardi, Nicki, and Megan. Even rnb artist like jorja and ari Lennox don’t go to their extent. And they sexualizing themselves not niggas. Why y’all acting like we can’t criticize female rappers for being shallow when we do it to male rappers as well.

Because these are the type of artist people wanna try n bring up when songs like WAP drop.

Jhene Aiko’s song ‘Pussy Fairy’ is damn near the exact same song as WAP, but niggas ain’t saying s*** about
    that

Yeah, I think that cee lo green was hinting at hypersexuality in female rap is what violence is in male rap

Exaggerated and overrepresented to the point that some rappers who don't live that livestyle cap about it just to deliver those sexy/violence bars to their fans.
When gangster rap popped iff, it was def an expression of their lives but there was also backlash from
black politicians/black artists (such as Prince) on how this would effect the black musical landscape and the youth that listens to it, decades later.... nothing changed but a minuscule fraction of black youth (the rappers that make it ) make more money of it so who cares right...

everything about the lyrics on that song are coded through layers of entendres and metaphors. the video is meant to show you the ills of selling dope, not promoting it

So you just admit people aren’t there to hear what she has to say. They are there to see their body. Which is also what CeeLo was saying. People didn’t go to that video to hear their “expression” they went to see it which is their body’s.
