maybe they feel like it's a poor representation of something they love
house heads loved when Kanye made Fade. And they went in ready to hate but it was an authentic representation of the classic Chicago house sound
I think having that expectation of this is going in with the wrong mindset though tbh
They don't own the sound. F*** them/what they think.

He talks a big game on his radio show and on social about all this positivity in music s*** and how music heals and brings people together and yet this isn’t the first time he’s shown that persona as fake af
Tiktok will save the day

I agree, but electronic music often gets poorly represented in the mainstream so I can see it from their perspective
it's like when hip hop heads were annoyed that Will Smith was representing hip hop in the mainstream, winning Grammys instead of Public Enemy or whoever they would have preferred at the time

he's definitely credible in the genre
there's house producers I would have rather heard Drake collaborate with though like Disclosure or even Daft Punk. Maybe Jamie XX too. Even Ye hooking him up with some Chicago house samples would be cool. He could have worked with Nana Rogues again too.
Sticky seems to be one of the songs people love and it really sounds like the Gang EP Headie One did with Fred Again, a UK house producer. I wish he'd worked with people like that.
Would be cool to see Drake develop this sound more on the next album but I feel like he'll change direction again. There were some great house songs in hip hop in the 2010s like Azealia Banks 212 or Big Big Beat, Drake's Passionfruit or Ye's Fade so it can work. This just seems forgettable
