imo For All The Dogs didn't live up to the hype, still not a bad album but title coupled with that fact that it was advertised as being almost like a cult classic ("That old drake" etc) and turning out to be more of a playlist album just doesn't sit right with me.
Still a good album tho

I think the R&B on that album is the best in Drake’s career, and it sounds amazing in the fall.

What drags that album down are the rap songs and the attempts at catering to younger Gen Z

Tried Our Best, Virginia Beach, 7969 Santa and the Sza joint was def peak RNB drake.
but the Yeat feature? wtf was that. Yatchy song was great but not on that album. Overall i would say CLB is a lot more streamlined.

Listening back to this and just realizing what a big moment for the culture this album was. Donda vs CLB, s*** was moving mountains. No Drake album since has generated this much hype

I’ve said for a year now, Away From Home should’ve been the outro and the album should’ve been called “It’s All a Blur” since it was marketed as a return to old Drake and it would’ve coincided with the tour

This and Donda got a lot of undeserved hate when they came out. Both are pretty good.

This still feels like the last standard drake album, the 3 afterwards didn't have the same feeling to it. Even though hnvm is better and her loss is around the same in quality
