Expanding to 8 teams does literally nothing but add more blowouts that nobody wants to watch. There have literally been 2 competitive semifinal games in the CFP's existence and that's with 4 teams. If #1 Alabama opened as a 17 point favorite against #4 Notre Dame, how much would they be favored by against #8 Cincinnati?
