Nobody wants to hear those Jesus raps. It had a lot of good moments, but nobody tryna hear f***ing Kirk Franklin man. He changed up his subject matter, cool that's not the issue here. He just wraps it on such a corny way that it's not enjoyable to listen to.

i mean this isn't a good example because this song sucks because of the mix but yeah it's not subject matter because talking about people you love and concepts like religious can be really deep, he just did it with boring flows on boring beats wiht literally no depth. If chance (and ye) want to continue on the gospel road they need to mix in more styles of production and go deeper into the questions raised by religion.

I mean yeah mixing aside it's an incredible song. The problem with the Jesus raps are they're seldom profound. Yeah I get it he 'saves' yeah I get it he's 'great' but they don't try to bring anything new to the table or go beyond surface level.
