I think if Chance aint lean in on the joke (he’d post “i love my wife igh” mad times), homie probably would.
It is crazy what we call corny in hip hop though when you think about it.
That being said The Big Day coulda been a real mature album too with the same subject matter.
I mean it's not rly the subject matter itself it's how he went about it that made it corny, like most instances, plenty of wife loving sings that ppl love jay made it a whole album even
Eh. Some of it was warranted.
There’s an alternative universe that his “owbum” drops and it’s a classic and Chance is all the way outta here.
Like there was real life debates after Coloring Book that Chance could be Drake-level. Those Coloring Book live shows looked incredible.
As we saw with his ex manager expose, i think it just kinda got to homie head at some point. Niggas were literally telling him in his camp some of the big day was not good 😬
Does that mean he need to go back to doing acid to make better music again? Hell nah. But he does need to never make Mazda commercial tier anthems like on the run ever again
you don't gotta like everything but the reaction was a chorus of unfunny hate from mainly people that didn't like him in the first place and were excited to hate on the album so I don't really see it the same as someone level headed saying they didn't think the songs were great
Like words can’t describe how I felt hearing this for the 1st time
the trash beat, the awful yelling...

That’s what i meant with the last paragraph.
Like The Big Day could’ve delved into so much. 4:44 painted a realistic picture of what love and redemption was. Big Day just felt so juvenile and surface level in return.
Like the only track that barely gets at Chance’s stepping out was We Go High (and why, it is one of the best songs on that album)
I know I’m blabbering about this s*** but man, this s*** was legit dissapointing like, I don’t usually feel that towards projects (besides crash talk) unless I was like really f***ing with dude (i got memories bumping surf and freaking out hearing Badu uncredited for crying out loud) but this like really was a letdown of an owbum.
And you end the whole thing on a Nicki verse? The nigga that up til then was 10/10 on closers?
Chance himself said this the best thing he’s made makes sense. This would’ve been fire on the big day too.

Absolutely love this song
Those 2018 singles were all great like wtf happened lmfao
Like words can’t describe how I felt hearing this for the 1st time
Man I hated The Big Day and I haven't been a major Chance fan since Surf. But I REALLY hope he can make a comeback
65th & Ingleside one of my fave songs from the last 5 years no cap
If he could get back to that lane he'd win me back over in a heartbeat
This being good would be nice
I want him to have a new hat
this having 3 likes is crazy

3rd times the charm
Rooting for chance on this one
Would be a crazy moment if he actually pulled off a comeback
would be shocked if it's a whole project. Chance gotta get back on peoples' radars
