I had strong apathy for chance on like an institutional level, just not a fan of the music and his persona+background made me mad. But A Bar About a Bar and Highs & Lows have so little resemblance to Acid Rap's eccentricity-driven flows or the later gospel hokum that it might as well be a new artist in my mind. Even Child of God is sharper than I would've expected, some good punchlines on there and overall very pleasant to listen to
If he wants to make a full, medium length project of this post-Jay Elec style modern boom bap then I'm all for it. I even liked the weird verse about George Washington's fake teeth
This should be pretty good then cuz those songs are already stronger than the vast majority of his catalog
this the nicest thing you've ever said about chance that i can remember
2022 Graduation otw

Without a doubt lmao
I hope bar about a bar is extended bc it had a cool vibe and I like the short story vignette thing but it amounted to nothing like it had no conclusion
This is gonna sound like Jay Electronica mixed with Lin Manuel Miranda but I hope it has a gem or two
I mean the first four songs he released have been alright (Except for Bar About A Bar) but nothing amazing on the level of either Acip Rap or Coloring Book tbh
Highs and Lows sounds a lot better than a lot of songs on both those projects. But I kinda feel that way about bar about a bar
Album has no choice but to be better than TBD at the very least
could be one of his best off the tracks in OP are on the album

Not looking good
Honestly he’s done mainstream wise but he can still drop a great album.

It's crazy how much hype he had and one bad album sank his career. They were saying he'd be bigger than Drake in 2016

Taking 3 years between album and being a d***head to his fans on Twitter doesn’t help.
