Lyricism on this album legit like a 10/10

My issue with this album is subject material seems to repeat itself throughout the album on some tracks. And he doesn’t approach some with new angles. Even if songs are good I’m like I get it damn man and can make songs boring even though they are good songs if that makes sense

Also, probably just me, but I wish his “fun” songs on this (gun in a purse / drapetomania) were not trap songs and instead more fun soulful songs like ride. I also wish there was more of these then the heavy subject matter ones. Could cut the weaker lyrical ones and add more fun ones

That said overall this is like a 7/10 to me. HUGEEEE improvement from big day. And I even liked some of the big day. But in a theoretical universe we went from acid rap to coloring book to this, I would be disappointed in a way as I still feel this is a step down from those projects as albums. The highs and the lows (pun not intended) on acid rap / coloring book are higher than on this by a decent margin.

but its like... go only listen to niggas that can really sing then if rappers with average or subpar singing vocals bother you so much lol. imo if super tight singng vocals was niggas aim then ok but a LOT of rappers if not most of the most popular have done some singing here and there i feel you just got to take it for what it is when a rapper is singing this aint american idol or the voice (lol) idk jus my spiel on it

I feel like even if you're alright or average with singing, you should still show technical improvement with your singing as time goes on if you do want to sing.

Ye at least has show he attempted to train his voice for his singing focussed music.

Chance is a decent to good singer though. You can’t make songs like Same D**** or Space & Time without being an average singer at worst.
