CO has more flavourful writing, better structure & lush production but there’s something about Blonde, I feel like it’s more mature if that makes sense. It’s a lot more personal and that stripped down style helps the concept come to fruition.

I definitely think Blonde has higher highs but also has lower lows

I'd agree with that. Channel Orange feels more cohesive, it's a fantastic but relatively conventional R&B album. It's focus is tight and narrower, whilst Blonde veers all over the place in genres and sounds.

Not sure about the 'higher highs', though. Pyramids is the magnum opus of Frank's career and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.

Frank mom seems to think differently

Honestly I have a feeling Channel Orange will be the more remembered/played album in the next few decades to come

A lot of my opinion has been said. CO to me is a lot more creative as an album. Broader topics, the theme, the writing, the production, the features, the contrast of his love for women and his fight of being gay and not feeling those emotions back by the one he loves. It’s a better album as far as music goes

Blonde is more emotionally and that can make us like it more mentally cuz we are emotionally attached to it. But listen to both when you’re in a GOOD mood. CO is a better listen from front to back when you’re not tryna be in your mood.

Not to my defense I do listen to Blonde more as of now because of the raw emotion that is in it. I love both albums, but artistically CO is better and timeless to me. Blonde is very forgettable besides the emotion in it. CO has songs that are just works of it.

Like dawg Pyramids??? Golden Girl??? CRACK ROCK???? THINKING ABOUT YOU????
Dawg come on Frank ain’t never topping Pyramids ever in his life. That is his greatest song

It’s more abstract but not better. White people like blonde better because its closer to indie than it is r&b.

I’m black and I like Blonde better but I feel you.
Also I don’t think he was trying to make an “r&b” album with Blonde.

It’s a shame he’ll never make an album like Channel Orange again.

Also I don’t think he was trying to make an “r&b” album with Blonde.

I’ve always had trouble classifying what genre Frank belongs to but I would say Channel Orange is an alternative r&b album while Blonde is more of an indie pop album.

That’s why blonde is more acclaimed imo because there is an implicit bias from white critics against r&b.
