Man, Too Late, Scared To Live, maybe even Hardest To Love..so much more single potential still imo
It’s still hard to believe this nigga is really a household name
he told us in 2011 on Rolling Stone

Would’ve loved to see hardest to love live it’s top 3 on the album for me
Love how cohesive this album felt. This prolly known already but everything flowed nicely and perfectly and the tone seamlessly transitions from one type to the next.
Tracks 1- 4 sentimental and remorseful
Tracks 5 - 8 hard hitting and braggadocious with more hints of regret
Tracks 9 - 11 is good because you get a much needed sort of "break" from the heaviness and you get 3 really good pop songs that lighten the mood. This section is brief, but much needed to balance the entire listening experience out.
Tracks 12 -14 you get 3 more tracks that go back to the feeling of regret and pain, concluding the album on the dark tone that it opened with.
Starboy was good, but did not flow as well as this did imo.

You can tell it's purposeful and he validated this with the variety interview where he touches upon how after hours is a story and the title track is his thoughts at 4/5am after the events of the night

Well said!
I still f***ing love the title track
Coulndt agree more. And it's not even really single material. It just works perfectly as a really good album track. I kind of wish he just saved it for the album instead of having it as a promo single before the album dropped.
