Early impressions

• Interesting mixing decisions on his falsettos . Voice almost has this volcanic feeling of breaking through the mix especially on alone again.

• the album overall is LOUD. Definitely meant for tour.

• illangelo max Martin and metro are all over this album. Max Martin is the pop songwriting sensei, one of the reasons BBTM is so iconic. Illangelo n Weeknd especially should’ve never left so many years on the table.

• snowchild is sidewalks flow+ tell your friends storytelling+ my dear melancholy production. Cali was the mission now a nigga leaving is probably one of the hardest lines on here. Futuristic/ Philip k d*** is so tongue n cheek.

• escape from LA is doesn’t sound how I would based off the AM description. Can’t believe metro did production on this one.

-repeat after me interlude is NASTY. Shoutout kevin Parker boi.

• Singles fit the album really well!

• save your tears/ in your eyes sounds like what he was aiming for on Starboy but he couldn’t execute it properly. Both Feel out of place tho.

• hardest to love may have to grow on me.

So many grt tracks so ill just give my best aspects from some songs. I legit think most the tracks on here are 9/10 down to the already released singles

Snowchild keys are so f***ing amazing. Ive never such crisp and nicely produced sounds before man, great melodies

Too late is my favorite song to dance to

Alone again is ny favorite overall produced song/instrumental. So many alt artists forget music 101 of just hving s*** be catchy/earwormy and abel a master of tht. The refrain at the end is f***ing amazing and he rides the hi hats beautifully

its a good album but less consistent imo. the highs are high but the lows are low. the floor on after hours is really high to me
