Does anyone else wonder why they put the explicit tag on tracks without any swearing??
apple for some reason labels them all explicit for awhile don't know when they update that
Yeah...
This doesnt seem like the place for some critical thinking atm.
Even though we all fans and likes this guys music, this converstion wont go nowhere if we have to defend ourselves and ignore insults every other post.

Nah get back to the convo and stop whining.
I was re listening the trilogy tapes last night and I really don't understand this argument of his doing white music now. I know I'm a fan and my opinion will be based, but except for HOB and a few joints in Thursday and EOS (see, few), the "R&B" of the thing was never his strong point, many many songs on trilogy sounds like experimental pop music with R&B influence. The atmosphere, edgy lyrics and haunted production on those was what make him so interesting. After HOB he was never an straight R&B act like PND, R. Kelly or Jodeci, he was more than an act stuck in a only genre. He tried different sounds and different things that made him unique. (Life of The Party, Initiation, Heaven or Las Vegas, The Fall, Kiss Land as great examples).
And thats why I think this album is a pretty solid record, hes trying new things again and thats great. Is hard to compare this album to any of his past projects because is different and THIS is what makes him an interesting act to me. BBTM and Starboy were good pop releases, but this feels like a The Weeknd album, not so raw, but different.

Great points.
I dont think this is much different from BBTM or Starboy though. It is too polished and "over-produced" for me, even though I hate that term, I hope it that can make sense or be understood what I mean by that.
A point that gets lost is that I, and the person was talking to, havent said it sounds trash or is totally bad.
Im just not feeling some of it. Because it feels hollow, empty, boring and unspired. Whether it is because so much money behind it, the people in the production and writing, people like Max Martin or just the label having a lot of oversight in his releases since BBTM is something to further speculate on.
I dont think he making something super-amazing though. I enjoy most of it. But some of it Im just not listening to again. But then again, I also said he is not making music for me anymore. Which was my first thing said in everything I have written.
And if you like everything and just dont wanna discuss, like some others in here, cool. You seem like a pretty good person to talk with though, since you actually came with some good thinking and points of your own.
