I disagree with the notion that taxes are tied to spending. They're separate processes. Reagan-era economics linked them to push austerity.

To return to your question, do I know how the government allocates its money? Yes I do. The budget is published every year.

U know how the government allocates its money.

But do u know where ur own personal money that u spent on taxes is going and the breakdown of percentages ?

You're reading past my post. I disagree with the premise. In THAT reading of the situation, the money goes into the public coffers and the budget is the output. So yeah. Take the percentages and apply them to whatever you paid in taxes. Simple math.

The problem with Cole's system is that the more money you have the more say you have in how we allocate resources. It's arguable that's already how things go. So he's not really solving a problem. It's a technocratic solution to a moral issue.

Cole kinda lost for letting 5 years of mystique go but at the same time he’s lowkey real for being human and honest. No one with a brain really thought he was a true “leader” or genius as far as society

I think ur making the calculation way too simple when theres other factors to take in account of how the government is spending ur money. For one taxes may be the primary source of revenue for the government but not the only source for its budget so applying the same percentages of how the us spends its money wouldnt necessarily work that way. An there also other factors like corruption.

And I never said I agree with cole idea of people being able to chose where to allocate taxes to, I dont. I only said I dont see what's wrong with the idea of the government being transparent with the way that ur own personal money is being distributed. Other nations are far more transparent with the way that tax money is allocated.

I'm not really interested in litigating this. The fact is, yes, you know how much you pay in taxes and how the government budgets itself.

All of that is beside the point to me as I reject the notion of tying taxes to spending. As I reject Cole's suggestion we let rich people have outsized influence in allocating resources.

And most people recognize how dumb that line is instinctively.

U know how much u pay in taxes but majority of people dont know where their taxes are really going. Its the same situation with people donating money to charity, people would like to know EXACTLY how their money is being distributed.

Even if u could somehow simply breakdown the percentage using the budget that the u.s post, which u cant. What about the people in impoverished communities that have no formal education, how would they know where their money is going.

I think ur just simplifying his verse when he said his suggestion would be better than "letting wack congressman" decide. And even then that's just a small part of that verse to take away and break apart
