a weird little album, full of compression, used to have super sonic holding pink roses as the album cover and the lyrical material is a conceptual journey into Charles' desire to date Rihanna

so the full album kinda progresses as a single story

production is great, lyrics fit the style but not necessarily what y'all would call hard

originally released in 2009 and never on major streaming services until christmas 2019. i'm pretty surprised it's here honestly; the album is full of samples that i assume would be pretty expensive to clear

if you're only gonna sample a few songs i'd recommend romanticvents/re-anna (those 2 in sequence are great), the penthouse elevator, or either of the In Case songs

I used to stan this nigga in like 2009.. still listen to TPL every now & again.. the iTunes version of Come Back To You has this crazy breakdown at the end.. s*** is beautiful

his output is the craziest of maybe any rapper of all time! It's kinda sad if he would've focused on quality over quantity he'd really have some very classic mixtapes and albums.

to fans of him he does have some classic tapes but soooo much of it is just mediocre or shows slight promise and could be better

this mf even got the "SEGA" sound at the very end iont know how he got these sounds cleared or if rules have changed or what the heck, but i'm really glad this is on accessible streaming services. i was certain the samples would forever hold this project in limbo
