but nah i'm in the wrong for thinking hyperbolic statements like "best pop album in 20+ years" for a project that has barely been out for a week are over doing it

sophie
rosalia
lorde
twigs
lana
all made at least comparably great if not better records in 2010's alone imo, sophie has clear undeniable influence, lorde melodrama gets talked about to this day on here, i still think NFR is a great record, and el mal querer is undeniably brilliantly fresh
brat is undeniably great, but i feel like recency bias is causing the crowd to ignore some brilliant pop records of last couple of years, unless we're talking about a specific slice of electropop then yea its def up there, but like i said, sophies oil is leagues ahead of this to me personally
This is def a product of Oil, it couldn’t exist without it so I feel you.. Sophie is all over this record. I think Charli is carrying the torch for the level of pop Sophie was blueprinting though and it’ll be a landmark release when it’s looked back on
so many assumptions about my opinion despite me saying so little it's crazy actually
because you’re so f***ing predictable and cliche
I don’t think a female pop album of this level has released since vespertine by Bjork in 2001

yeah melodrama and nfr are up there but its hard for me to compare it to brat, not really the same lane for me
As far as albums in the lane i put brat in brat and sophie’s album got it for me
I love twigs (more than charli overall tbh) and like rosalia but I like this album more honestly

I’ve never heard of Shygirl before
I have to be the third person to tell you she's amazing and you gotta listen to her music

So what female pop albums clearing this? I’m not talking about albums that are a similar level like a little better or worse. I’m talking female pop albums that are on a higher plane than this

Best by a woman since Black Out
taylor on the brina album i’m hearing so hold ya horses
also olivia is her biggest fan 🥱
That sign can’t stop me because I can’t read!
Music shouldnt be some kind of competition so that whole convo is dumb but Brat is definitely in the SSS tier of pop albums
sorry for going off topic but i need more people to wake up
+easyfun prod so it fits into the brat cinematic universe
