How I'm Feeling Now is more like Yeezus tbh
yeah and this reminds me more of Pablo/ye
The way i listen to this album cause of the album cover along like it don't have anything impressive but i kinda got an idea of checking the album and here i am impressed by listening to this album.
Haven't listen to complete project from her since the charli album so with this hype i kinda wanna get into her discography again
Man this album feels so effortless. It feels like she didnāt even try that hard and I mean that in the best way possible. Like she could drop another couple albums on this level on a whim. So crazy
Whereas Charli's prior work was known for its experimental, hyperpop production, Crash features a more conventional dance-pop sound, with Charli dubbing it her "major label sell-out" record. Desiring to play a satirical role, she hypersexualized herself, took songs written for her by others, and used an A&R person for the first time in her career.
seems kind of forced though. maybe she did genuinely want to just make a straight up radio - or at least radio adjacent - record, but idk just being self aware about it isnt enough to convince me of that lol

Oh agreed crash was mid. We back tho.
The thing about Charli is her marketing team has made it their every effort to convince people that she's on some way higher level and that she's unwilling to compromise her ideas for success ... When at the end of the day it's still just shallow pop music lol. They've done a fantastic job though, because this detail gets brought up all the time. The real heroes are AG Cook x crew. I love Charli, she's my fav pop artist, but it's not that deep. She can write a better hook than 90 percent of these clowns, and that's all that needs to be said. She's not some ultra-tapped in underdog raging against the pop machine.

She was initially though, like her early music was her really imo pushing the boundaries of where pop can go.
World wasn't ready for it though.

this isnt really radio adjacent. its club adjacent. shes been making music in different pop genres since she started. also her label has always had a hand in what she did whether it was hyperpop or not.

Like her pre-label stuff when she was a kid, or her early albums? Bc those early albums are her most blatant attempts at mainstream pop success IMO. It wasn't until around N1A and Vroom Vroom EP that she tried to carve her own niche, s*** doesn't even sound like the same artist

I'm talking Vroom Vroom era, none of that really sounded like an attempt to make it mainstream imo.
Early stages like True Romance/Sucker yeah I agree but that's a given for most early pop artists to be able to establish themselves.
@RVI
this song still slaps
