i think my initial reaction is one of lowkey disappointment tbh having really liked the first few singles, i just think too much of the remainder of the album blends into itself. like it almost feels to me like some of the coolest production quirks and big pop hooks were saved for the singles. that's an obvious enough move from an exposure POV but it almost makes the rest seem way less adventurous by and large? that's obviously not to say there isn't other cool stuff here and i immediately think of lightning and used to know me as good examples but yeah. tbh the most damning thing to me is that im not really sure you could call this a 'traditional' big 'pop' record. after good ones and promising that sound, i almost think this falls into an awkward middle ground between big pop sounds and hooks and charli's more recent 'weirder' output and doesn't really scratch the itch of either

that said, im reserving final judgement until i give it a few more spins cos i think this sort of record often reveals its best earworms after a few listens.

I listened again. I really don't have many good thoughts about it at all.

Played a few tracks off HIFN right after and they hit harder than ever before.
