Cold doesn't bother him but a lack of sun/sunny days can be a bit tough on him so he was wondering what the sun situation is like out there

There’s def a lack of sun particularly around December - March (expect it to get dark around 4-5pm)
Otherwise the sun is typically there until 7pm all the way to 9pm

He's more so asking about the actual number of days that get sunlight/aren't cloudy

I wouldn’t say Chicago is going to get 300+ days of sun by any means but I’d say it’s more sunny than not in the year

Yeah, we came up in one of the sunniest parts of the country so he wasn't expecting anything close to that in Chicago but the numbers seemed mad low when he did a quick search so this is good to hear
