GAYFORSALEMI do completely agree that we all could just not shop at big corporations like Walmart Micky Ds H&M that are f***ing us and they would probably just go away eventually
Like people don’t realize that we are literally funding them to keep us poor
But like how would we go about doing that as a whole
Like most people can’t afford to even like say no to not using these companies because they are so poor
You might not realize it but your shoe privelaged to be able to just eat plant based
And it’s like really not possible to completely use ethical consumption
The staples of any developing nation are (unintentionally) vegan. Why? Because they're cheap. Fruit, veg, grains, and legumes. Cheap s***. So it's not a matter of income but rather knowledge and time. If someone doesn't even know how to chop up a bell pepper or how to tell when a fruit is ripe how can you expect them to break away from the convenience of fast food.
It's such a vast problem with so much nuance, getting people to break free from the very things that oppress them. Like Wal-Mart subsidizing it's workforce through govt welfare. S*** like that is sick and should be illegal.
I don't really have the answers here though I do think about this stuff all the time.
It's my dream to somehow use the internet to coordinate the masses into a mass protest. Nobody goes to work for two weeks. We coordinate with our neighbors to provide food and shelter for everyone in the community and we just do not go into work until things change. Mandatory PTO, free healthcare, a tax code that ACTUALLY taxes the wealthy white elites, UBI, etc.
The people have the power, we just have to come together somehow, some way...
