Jul 22, 2024Great album. I actually saw him at a panel at San Diego comic con when he was Troy in community years ago. They were in their fourth season then I think? Something like that. He wasn’t anywhere near as popular as now music wise as childish gambino. Always will have a soft spot for him.

sauceri feel like The Violence and Final Church feel like more fitting send offs to the Gambino project/idea than A Place Where Love Goes but i’m not mad at it at all. beautiful song
I think this album works really well as a collage of Gambino styles to end this chapter but in my own head Final Church is still the final Childish Gambino music statement

sir shrimpyI was itt when this dropped and saw it getting hella hate. Lowkey put off listening to it because everyone was saying it was garbage.
But it was actually fire?? Dragged a lil in the end but jeeez there are some great f***ing songs in here.
The most important thing to remember about this site… is that first reaction album threads are always absolute trash right after an album first drops . Everyone is just rushing to give their hot takes without letting the album sink in
Tbh this also applies to first reactions on Twitter as well
You gotta just ignore those first reactions and give an album a full listen without those outside influences distracting you
